I need to get this off my chest. I am not breathing very well.
Darn you, heart. Darn you. Darn you for taking me on yet another roller coaster ride.
Darn you for making me a fool.
Oh yes, a fool. A fool once again. just like 3 years ago.
Heart, you never learn. you never learn to guard yourself. You never learn to guard your emotions.
You keep beating with all your fervent vigour, but get returned with nothing but a cold emptiness.
You pour out your all all too eagerly, and that is why all those that were once yours get held hostage.
You become at another being's disposal. You allow yourself to be manipulated.
You gave a part of you, and put that part at a vulnerable disposal.
Feelings. Feelings hurt.
I get reminded again why many people choose to hide them, and choose to be poker faced.
Why many learn to put on a superficial front. It gets them around, and away from all these crap.
Crap. the crap of bearing the brunt of your investment. the brunt of giving a piece of your heart.
Heart, take that piece back, and guard it more strongly than before.
You need to learn.
To guard.
To not let yourself go without reason.
No, it is not a cold hard world.
I'm not telling heart to be cold.
Warmth is good. Warmth warms yourself.
But at least, with people, guard.
& Lazy afternoons ...
