Please don't take my Sunshine away !

Working at the childcarecenter every day is becoming an increasingly jolly affair ;)
These are the what added sparks to a day in life:
.
1) Outdoor Playtime with the N2s
At 10 30 daily, it'll be outdoor time at the void deck . Playing "What is the time now Mr Wolf " with the kids can be so much fun. Of course, i'm the big bad wolf who goes chasing them around. It's interesting to see how the kids act when they are about to be caught. They do not run away from you, instead they stand rooted on the spot and scream. hahaha... i had a good laugh at that. I shall be thinking out more games for them to play as even duck duck goose has proven to be a too difficult game for them .
2)Time spent interacting with the toddlers
There's this particular boy htetaung who's just so cute! The kids were asked to do collage on a cat picture and this dongrui covered his entire cat with coloured paper, including the eyes. Then, htetaung complained to me in chinese that "dongrui mei you li mao." So i asked why, and he said" ying wei ta de mao mei you yan jing" Haahaaahaaa... it completely doesn't make sense right. I don't think he knows what mei you li mao means. He left me wondering why pasting on the eyes of the cat means having no manners. boohoo! he's the most playful of the lot but i like him alot, like how he calls ms wong meepong. Mee Pooongg! and he has a very hoarse voice.

erdyween like i've mentioned before is also one peculiar boy. He's a kid i'm tryin to understand and hopefully teach. The way he hits his friends and threatens them pretty much bothers me. Interestingly, he knows he's in the wrong and tries to cover up for his misbehaviour in front of the teacher. A shrewd kid i would say. He would go "i don't give you biscuit ah" secretly to the kid who he thinks is a threat to him and he will make himself sound like a victim when he's actually the bully. Not a very easy kid to love but i hope there's a way i can win him over.

Also, i really like the little ones in playgroup and N1. I know they can be quite a handful for the teacher to handle but i can't help but gush at just how adorable they are. Really really.

3) Changing of dirty diapers
Well i would say this job exposes me to the most interestingly bothersome things. There was one time when we were so short of teachers that i had to help with bathing the 2 year olds. Yeahh...! I have never changed a diaper before and my first time was passable i would say. I'm amused by how disciplined the kids are. They know how to sit on the chairs and wait for their turn to bathe, and caleb even knows how to remove his clothes himself. applause applause. Then before they go to sleep they'll each have a bottle of milk, how cute.

4) I got what i wished for, A Good Supervisor ;)
The first few days at the job were extremely tiresome and depressing because of the unpleasant working atmosphere. There was no stationary supervisor at the center to oversee the running and hence there were many things i couldn't stand. In short, i hated the work and environment. I was dreading every day at work and just couldn't wait to quit. To make it worse i disliked one particular existence in the center who had assumed quite collosal power. Every day, i was thinking ... I don't mind doing tedious and extra work if only my efforts reap results. I can look for other jobs even if it needs travelling just so that i can spend my time more meaningfully. Then, Miraculously, just like what I have wished over and over in my head, a new supervisor sprang up ! And most importantly, she's the kind of supervisor anyone would wish for. When she came on board, so many things were straightened out and i finally felt that i was working for a purpose. It's a Revolution we're hoping to see. I'm so glad that we're all working towards a shining new goal ;) Scores one point! Oh and she's really nice to me ;) yaaaay!

5) Knowing neighbours in the neighbourhood
Since this is a childcarecenter, many chiildren come from nearby dwellings, and so do i .Hence, when i go down to walk MoMo Darcy or jog sometime, i would come across one or two familiar faces. Strangely , the kids recognise me and greet me with a hello everytime without fail. Isn't it wonderful to be more acquainted with the kids living in the neighbourhood? Haha... And when i go back to the center the next day they would be telling me that i have a dog. Yes yess.

I see that this is just a beginning to my experience in a childcarecenter. I'm currently sourcing out for more readups on early childhood education and certain behaviourial problem to complement my daily encounters. Let's hope everything goes well ;))
& Lazy afternoons ...
