just thought that i'll write about this morning's ct session, which is interesting to an extent. Well, so we were asked to group into our PW group like last year, something which we havent done so in ages. Then, every group is given a pack of poker cards, yes poker cards, and presented with a seemingly same white sheet of instructions for the game, titled " 5 tricks". expectedly, some lazy ppl like cher didn't bother to read the instructions, so she basically listened to our processed instructions and played along. For our group , it was .- the Ace is the biggest card- there's no trump card-player on the left of the previous dealer gets the next start.play on we did and after a round or two, the rule of "no talking, only gesturing"is passed. Then, the final winner, the one with the most suits won, gets to group together and start off another round of game. here comes the interesting part... .the thing is, every group received a set of different rules! .so with cher's party, they play with Ace being the smallest, which got her blaming "wyne for reading and telling me wrongly." now i know how much she trusts me, nehneh. haha, and lix was assertive enough to say " spade is the trump card" ( asserting her own set of rules) and took the initiative to swap off the pile. well, but in our case, there's no trump card to begin with! .for my second party, it was terribly confusing as i was the only one from my group, which means no other one person plays by my rule! In that party, ace was the smallest, ( so i thought , okay maybe i missed that sentence) and the winner gets the next round. The fact that we're not supposed to converse made it worse as i couldn't voice my confusion. thus, what can i do but follow the majority? i felt pretty discounted, like the unrepresented minority, .So, by the time the whole game ended, many of us already noticed the discrepancies. Every group played by a different set of rules! .some questions raised were. "how do u feel when every body plays by a different set of rules? " , 'what do you think of me (the ct) as the overall -horrible" and something directed to moi like how do you feel after winning the rounds singly, without a partner. cos i was going solo. and my reply was discounted which i think no one understood. hmph. yeah..so the moral? the assertive , as in the one who asserts his or her stand, has an advantage in winning. when everybody has different rules, it's natural to be confused and deflated, esp when theres someone you cannot stand to fight against in the group. alienated. so on and so forth. .so all in all, i found this game a pretty interesting one. It's like using all of us to do an experiment, trying to find out how each person reacts when put in a situation and how the dynamics evolves. .yipeeee...fundraising's up next week! bazaar's this sat! double test next week! wildlifebuddy next next week! i'm gonna get busssssyyyy! =))
