14th February - The Day of Giving,
-& Receiving
-
Fairly enough, Valentine's Day has evolved and become what it is now, a day of giving.
A day just belonging to the lovey doveys in the past is now a day for friends as well.
It marks the genuinity of friendship as each individual is reminded of the friends they used to hold or hold so dear.
-
I personally find this day meaningful as it brings joy in a vice versa manner.
The process of preparing little tokens of appreciation for another is what i find the most beautiful.
How nice it is to be thinking of someone and wishing her the very best. How nice it is, too, to know that someone has been thinking of you upon receiving a gift.
It all boils down to the thoughts a certain someone has spent just for another someone.
The wrecking of brains of what to purchase, the surreptitious brewing of a surprise and the penning down of heartfelf message all stem from the bottom of the heart and to me,
this is the absolute sweetest, and the absolute sweetess gift to someone you treasure.
Even still, the greater satisfaction and joy come from knowing that your friend has received your thoughts and that it has made her day.
That, is the very joy of giving.
you have put a smile on someone's face ;-)
and one on your own.
truly.
-
I specially like this idea of giving as it reminds one not to be self-centered and do things that brings benefits only to oneself. I find this awful line of thought becoming increasingly apparent as people get caught up with the frentic pace of their life and in the midst of it, forget about the joy of giving. The mind has somehow been held captive by erratic duties and hence has shut down from the friendly gestures all around. The outcome is a person who never finds it too soon to dismiss any idea of helping another using the sole excuse of his or her busy business. Or rather, a person who finds no qualms about rejecting his or her friend's kind intentions.
But really, do you youself mean the whole world to you?
-
Thus, this very day gives us the time to think about the very people who played a part in our lives and realize it if we have been too caught up with ourselves.
The world can be a happy place,
only if you start sparing a thought for others.

Happy Valentine's Day ;-)
