Let me relieve the two fun-filled days saturated with children...

Day 1 , Wednesday
Feelin pretty excited, or rather, apprehensive, i made my way to bedok mrt station to meet up with a bunch of long-time-no-see friends and another of totally unseen faces. Well, i wasn't exactly comfortable with the idea of explorin this never-seen-before facet, but still, the thought of a children camp got the better of me. So yeah, as expected, i felt totally odd when i was greeted with a sea of people my age. Naturally, i just stood there and waited for any kinds of icebreakin motions. Haha... Come to think of it, it's pretty strange of me. One moment i was an introverted, unsociable and unfriendly person, and the next, i noticed i was wild, frank, straight forward, and talkin about anythin under the sun with people i just came to know. Split personality? No, it should be tripled personality. That's because without even warnin, i find myself transformin into a control maniac. Somethin just triggered that "leader" instinct in me, exhortin me to take charge and accelerate towards the new found goal. For that, i was a different person once again. When i start to work towards something, people around me become invisible unwittingly. Durin the heat of the moment, i was forced to neglect the people. So yeah, that facade? A cold, bossy and stubborn gal. Haha... The funniest thing is, i always get too involved in those roles to manage to get out of it. That is where my regrets come from. Hence reflection after any events is crucial to me, that is when i can step out and take a birdeye view of my "behaviour". Sometimes, i don't even know why i do the things i do, and that confuses me a lot. Doing something that does not speak to my heart? I regret that most. No, not regrets, it's detest. I don't wanna feel regretful for what i have chosen to do, i just wanna learn from my mistakes. Yup, that's it.

Opps, i digressed quite a bit in front! haha...let's get back to topic, about the camp. Yup. So we drag abit and reached the centre around nine. Fast forward those nitty gritty details, and it's time for com meetin. To be honest, i was totally unfamiliar with everything. Naturally, upon seein something familiar, i cling on to it. Gradually, i got to know the AHS peeps and the atmosphere livened up quite a bit. It had been a long time since i engaged in such group meetins. Committee? This has somewhat been somethin outta my reach durin school days since i can't concur with senior opinions and couldn't stand my ideas being neglected. fast forward fast forward, it's LUNCH TIME! Bland rice with veggie luncheon meat + egg + side. Good enough to feel my tummy.

Soon, pig time was over and our treasure hunt started. But boy, it started to rain shortly! And an unfortunate event occured, leavin me somewhat dejected and pessimistic for the whole day. I was responsible for that accident, why hadn't i been more alert? Drats, i just couldn't figure that out durin that day. But eventually , yeah, i untied that knot in my heart and realized something new. So Wednesday was pretty short becos of the unprecedented rain . The most fulfilling? Pictionary in the classroom with a handful of little kids. Yes, that hour was challengin, havin to keep the kids in control and the game going, and yet havin to keep in mind to make the whole experience fun for them. You see, a balance between discipline and fun had to be kept. I didn't wanna be that demandin, but after all, i was responsible for the kids. If i were to be fun, lenient, friendly, i am quite certain that pictionary would have become a disaster where indignant kids cry and fight. So yes, i can say i had used whatever methods i knew i could to the best of my ability. I don't know what image i had created of myself to my peers, but whatever it is, i know i am contented with myself.
Day 2, Thursday

I was practically drained , mentally, feelin pretty hopeless since the discussion didn't go real well the night before. I get worried most when people are oblivious to the responsibilites they ought to fulfil and fail to realize the serious nature of situations. Ok, i know i can be over-serious and apprehensive. I need to relax abit. But still, u know, the system is ingrained in me! As expected, we had to use the limited time we had to come up with a perfect plan for the day. Honestly, i was real happy with how everyone was movin ahead and workin together then. At least, no more TCS. ( haha, a new learnt word) Enjoyed lunch in the classroom, gettin to know people better, healin myself spiritually. I realized the roles friends play in my life. I doubted that seriously before. After pig time, we went our separate ways, me off to centre 2. I don't know if scavenger hunt went well, but butt space proved too difficult for the kids, at least that's what i thought. Preparation for station games came next , where christen was busy blowin balloons and shawn dun-know-doing-what. I went over to cut the apples, skillfully, haha, and came up with a rough layout. Seriously, everythin was impromtu and i had fun counterattackin stuff. But but but, i know i was being too strong-headed then. Again, i believe i neglected quite a few souls. That aside, the games went off smoothly where excited kids move from stations to stations and tried the games. A big thank you to the team leaders here who had done real well in handlin the groups of kids. I relaxed a huge deal and went on to take pictures of the fun and memorable moments. This session was really a steep learnin curve for me. It taught me to stand back, relax and take a deep breath. Not everything have to work according to a system and structure. Leave some areas grey, not black and white clearly divided. Eureka! Miraculously, the kids were obedient and played well, with no accidents but fun balloon games and carom. Eventually, the time came and we did a closin statement. When we awarded the prizzies, i felt warm and fuzzy inside, seein that the kids had enjoyed the games and hopefully, learned some discipline . But i just wanna take this chance here to apologize to someone if i had went ahead with my plans and dismissed his. I feel bad about takin charge like this when someone had planned the whole thing long long time ago. Stealin the spotlight? Yes, exactly. I am sorry and sorry that i didn't have a chance to explain myself personally. That aside, this camp was an awesome one and i had enjoyed myself thoroughly. Without the organizers ,this chance for me to learn would not have been possible, without the willin participants, a leader would be nothing but a standin fool. Yes, what's a leader without his or her followers?
